Your Everyday Superpower

Intentions

When I was in the process of buying my home, there was a point at which things got very delayed because the current owners lived in another city and there were four of them and they had to agree on some things and coordinate digital signing of documents. I was starting to feel frustrated and some fear was creeping in because I knew this was a home I could thrive in.

I have learned to monitor when negative emotions start to take over and I immediately sat down and wrote out an intention that declared that the remaining process of closing on, renovating, and moving into my new home unfolded smoothly, in joy, pleasure, and in appreciation for all involved.

An intention connects you to your full power by being something that you have decided is a true priority for you, that you will take purposeful action toward, and that is worthy enough for you to expand your ability to receive it in its fullness.

Once I had writen down the intention, I energized it by imagining that this is how it unfolded and also feeling those qualities and emotions now, not waiting to feel them until the buying process was done. This is important - permeate the whole experience with how you want to feel in the end and you have connected to your true superpower of setting intentions. Once I had my intention I knew that I could take the required actions in joy, positive anticipation, and gratitude which synced me up with the flow of life and felt good all along the way.

So the key to the intention-setting process is that you state the intention and then describe standing and being in the end result of the intention in present tense as if it was happening now. You want to infuse that end result description with positive emotion and qualities you want to experience such as Joy, Love, Power, Confidence, Wisdom, Peace. You energize these feelings and qualities (i.e. imagine it in your mind and feel it in your body as if it is happening now) and you align yourself with the intention as a co-creator with the universe and understand that as you start to show up believing this intention is done, you flow toward it. As you practice energizing the intention repeatedly you will live into it.

The final step of the intention process is to allow the inspiration to flow as to the best actions steps to take to live into the intention.

Take those actions and don't be concerned if it doesn't unfold exactly as you had described the end result - the important thing is to surround it all along the way with the positive feelings and qualities that you have identified and you will live into an experience that is aligned with those. Sometimes our intentions don't look as we had imagined but in that case it is usually better than we could have imagined or a blessing in some way we hadn't considered before.

Whenever you hit a speed bump at work or in your personal life, tap into your suprepower of intentions. As Wayne Dyer said: "As you become the power of intention, you'll see your dreams being fulfilled almost magically, and you'll see yourself creating huge ripples in the energy fields of others by your presence and nothing more. You feel good not because the world is right, but your world is right because you feel good."
